I would like to get involved into coding on intraday data, and that's why I'm planning to subscribe for iqfeed for my WL6. I am interested only historical data yet. My question is, does iqfeed still work with WL6 properly after the release of WL7 ? I couldn't find any other proper possibility in the extension list for intraday historical data.

Yes, IQFeed works great with WL6, but it would be an expensive option for non-streaming, historical data.
How much data do you need (1 yr, 10 yrs?), what interval, and how many symbols?

little bit of intraday data for free with the
AlphaVantage Provider - follow the instructions on the page.

Thanks for your suggestion, I downloaded and installed the Alpha Vantage static provider. It is suitable for a temporary solution during the learning curve, but IQFeed will be necessary later to make sure if strategies work on longer data series.
