Pulling up a chart of CHTR with a pane for ADX I get no graph. The data is available for its computation.

Actually, ADX gets plotted. It's good that you show the Data window. There's an indication of NaN for ADX for the penultimate bar for some reason - like a data error, for example.
What about other symbols - is this for CHTR only? What data provider is this?

OK. According to the Data Tool's Data Checker, Yahoo's CHTR has
1603 zero bars from 2010 to 2016 (OHLC = 0). So the indicators cannot be rendered. Let me look into the Yahoo provider's code to understand why won't it skip those bars at all.
The
Data Tool can be used to purge all weekend / zero OHLC bars and fix other errors.

Upon closer look, there was a 0:1 split on 05/18/2016 which unsettles the provider. You can make provider ignore it. Go to Data Manager > Yahoo Data > click "Ignore selected splits", add the CHTR split on 5/18/2016 and refresh your chart for the indicators to appear.
