Now that we are switching to a new major release of Wealth-Lab, WL7, this might be a good time to look at new forum software.

I always liked how Stack Overflow worked for getting help. They do offer a hosted service called Stack Overflow for Teams. The issue is cost of course. Their hosting is expensive.

But perhaps you could talk to them about licensing their help-desk forum software so you can host it on your own virtual server platform. It's just a thought. I do appreciate, if you go down that path, you may need to add another person to your team, which is even more expensive.

As always, there's a tradeoff between usability, features, and expense (including manpower). But powerful forum software that effectively engages your audience will add value to your product. Moreover, it could save support time if users are willing to learn to use it effectively (as they do on Stack Overflow).

Thanks for the suggestion, but there's a whole new home-grown website and forum to be launched in parallel with WL7. We'll see how it goes, and if we need to make changes to make it work better, then we'll do that!

Cone,

Will the new website allow the Users to Private Message one another? That would be a great addition.

Private communication would be a terrible addition because it would allow for things like unsolicited advertising or sharing some protected content which is beyond any control of webmasters (because it's private). As a technician I wouldn't want to be involved in a resource that is capable of supporting this.

Eugene,

Understand your concern. Then would it be possible to expose people's email if they so desire to have off-board communication with other members?

I wouldn't want to be spammed by bots scraping the website. I'll never post my email address.

You do have a point superticker.

Any thought about how people might be able to establish contact off the board? On other boards I have been able to establish collaborations that were mutually beneficial because we could do so privately.

You could do this on our Discord or even the fledgling WL subreddit.

I recall how some persons tried it here too, exposing their emails and asking others to send them Wealth-Lab Extensions because they didn't want or couldn't purchase WL.

Are you aware of any resource that exposes people's email today? In the light of the GDPR law and implications and fines it may impose if an organization breaches it?

And that's a dumb reason because that extension code will only work with WL, which they don't have.

The right solution is to list several recommended technical analysis reference books traders can buy to get this information. That should satisfy their needs. And several "high quality" technical analysis websites do this, and MS123 can do this too. We want to encourage traders to be as educated as possible with all their actions.

They do have it by virtue of using an outdated cracked copy.
