Signed up at the Wealth Data site and created a WL in WLP. Attempted to update the WL and had some surprises.(small snippet below)

Some questions:
1) I thought that Wealth Data was free to all WLP users, so why is it not part of my subscription?
2) Why are so many valid ticker symbols showing "Symbol not found"?

Nevermind! I just found the answer - "Wealth-Data consists of the Nasdaq 100, S&P 100, and Dow 30 current companies. "
I did not realize it was that limited.

Thanks for your interest in WealthData. Keep in mind that the initial release is limited, and WealthData is in public beta.
1) Your current subscription level does not allow access to these symbols. TYC and BAX are supported for higher level subscriptions, the rest simply doesn't have data.
2) Neither one of these symbols are supported. According to the
FAQ, Wealth-Data currently
consists of the Nasdaq 100, S&P 100, and Dow 30 current companies. But we need to start with something and then expand.
P.S. I've edited your post and topic title to get rid of misleading emotions and labels.

So does that mean that I will need to subscribe to WD at a higher level ($399/yr) once the public beta period is over?

No. Wealth-Data is and will be offered free-of-charge to Wealth-lab customers. However, we're concentrating on providing quality EOD data for limited, but popular, DataSets.

        Hi Carova,
Just also wanted to jump in this conversation. Providing clean data is a real challenge. I am sure you have seen the price differences between WealthData and Yahoo (CSIData) and others. Any other provider usually takes data as they are. As we found out from our own "trading experience" the data is often wrong. Executions do not take place at desired price (opening price) or highs or lows of a day never took place.
We are trying to change that. We not only trying to correct the data for the future but also have changed historical data. It was a process that took us over one year and still takes a long time everyday.
The price differences between WealthData and other providers can make a big difference for system traders. Usually drawdowns are larger and profits are smaller when using WealthData. Results are more realistic and not beautified. Even with the limited data I believe WealthData has a great value for system developers. Have you seen the additional information we provide on the Wealth-Lab Pro home page (see attachment).
WealthData is an important project of mine and I would like to hear your feeling about it. Thank you.

        Hi VK!
I am VERY familiar with the issues associated with data, the need for accurate data, and the effort required to ensure clean data. Many years ago we did some moonlighting contract work using T&S data on a daily basis to build "realistic" EOD data streams for a client. It is unbelievable how frequently there are a few low-volume trades that are completely outside the "normal" trading range which totally skews the EOD data reported by the exchanges. I really applaud your efforts and do acknowledge that it is: 1) a LOT of work; 2) generally under appreciated (if it is appreciated at all!). But as you say, clean data is essential for accurate back-testing. And, as you point out additionally, the effect of clean data is reduced historical system performance, but I might add, much more in line with the real-time performance that follows.
I do plan to look at the WD data to evaluate my systems under development, but possibly in a manner that you may not have expected. I am going to look for systems that are relatively immune from the effects of the normal "outliers & corrupters" that occur. I currently use robust nonparametric statistical approaches in my systems for that very reason, and the WD will allow me to verify that this approach does actually work in practice. :)
Good luck to you in this effort. I can't wait to see your further progress.

Please explain this scenario.. Follow these steps: Add all Nasdaq 100, S&P 100, and Dow 30 symbols to a WealthData data set.
(Go to the wealth-data page, and "Clear All Data", if you have previously created a data set.) Now, select this data set in the Data Manger, and select "Update DataSet (Pricing)" for this newly created data set.
Current behavior:
FOX: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
GOOG: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
LBTYK: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
LMCK: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
LVNTA: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
DISCK: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
(The other symbols show activity for fetching pricing data.)
Given the wealth-data.com description for this subscription, all of the above symbols should be valid. What am I missing for these to be displayed with the error: "Access denied: this symbol is not part of your subscription."?
Thank you,

        Mike,
Neither one of these symbols is supported. You probably had included them in your DataSet(s) before but since then they've got replaced (delisted, spun off etc.) At first glance, FOX GOOG DISCK are Class C shares and it seems that W-D doesn't cover them. Their Class A counterparts are FOXA, GOOGL etc.
Furthermore, W-D is fully prepared for such scenario and can transparently replace such tickers with their actual analogues on each start of WLP. It's likely that by the time of DataSet creation, the checkbox "Auto-update DataSet components" had not been checked. This explains why they're still in your DataSets. Let me suggest that you re-create the DataSet(s) and enable that option.
I agree with you on that the error message isn't too intuitive for your level of subscription. It should rather say "No data".

Wealth-Data does not include the major US indices. My strategies are majorly based on the indices and corresponding ETFs. I have been getting the data for them from Fidelity. What are your recommendations on where I should get these important data now?
Thanks,

I created Data Sets in Wealth-Lab Develper 6.9 with exactly the symbols from https://www.wealthsignals.com/symbol-list
If I try "Update DataSet" I get many Messages like:
AA: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
CNX: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
BB: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
...
XLB: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
XLU: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
XLV: Access denied: This symbol is not part of your subscription.
I read elsewhere that WealthSignals uses Data from WealthData....
So I am confused.
Where can I get a list of symbols supported by WealthData?

Wealth-Data supports the symbols currently in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 and all the symbols that fall out of those indexes since the date you signed up for Wealth-Data.
I can't remember the motivation at the time, but maybe we can convince management to relax the constraints now.
We want to add the WealthSignals ETFs to the Wealth-Data support, but that task is on a lower priority at the moment.

        Hi Izzy,
Sorry, I don't think that index symbols are part of users' subscription at the moment.
EDIT 08/31/2020: From our viewpoint, it doesn't add value to offer these symbols in W-D since they're already available in other free data providers such as Yahoo etc.
