Does any one have links to daily and intraday data listed on BSE or NSE?
I know that yahoo does have EOD for BSE/NSE, only problem is u have to know name of company. There does not seem to be a list of all the stocks stocks..say on BSE etc.
When i go to BSE site, for each of their stocks (scripts) they have numerical value e.g. BO201020 etc. Where as yahoo recognizes the stock by their names, e.g. Infosys, TATA Motors etc.
Has any one here attempted to gather data from BSE. Or any body know of a paid data provider?

Actually, BSE does provide EOD free of charge, But u have to download 1days zipfile at a time.

yahoo seem to have data for some scripts/stocks but not all.
Is there an example of WLP static adapters that i can refer/modify to
-down load each zipped file from http://bseindia.com/mktlive/bhavcopy.asp( i can probably do this)
- unzip and get .csv file ( i can probably do this)
- somehow convert it to format that WLP will understand (static? Ascii?)
-any suggestions or pointing to the link that may be helpful will be appreciated. Thank u

BHAV files have never been supported by Wealth-Lab, neither v4 nor v5, they can't be read by the ASCII provider. We've answered this before. The requirement is to have 1 symbol per file.

But please stay tuned... I think there'll be a solution for you soon.

1. suppose i down load EOD data for an entire year from BHAV with all scripts in one .CSV file for each day.
2. Then in WLP i create an empty bar object.
3. then i use data from bhav.csv,e.g. 526987 URJA GLOBAL T Q 70.35 74.85 70.35 71.55 71.55 74 25 2996 213674
4. Load the bar object with entire year of o/h/l/c/v from "526987 URJA GLOBAL"
5. save the bar object to file (bars.SaveToFile) with name of the script ..say BHAV526987
6. create an entire folder with "savetofile" and use use bars load from file to run my WLP strategy
7. Is this doable? I think the date will be wrong (one day behind) because of time difference but thats not a big deal
8. I need ur opinion/suggestion before spending time to write program for it...only to realize later it wont wrork. Thank in advance.

Sorry for the delay - I may forget the number of open projects in my folders, but I have not forgotten your request. The 6 data providers -- both finished and those in the making -- are the next item on my to-do list, including a streaming provider to go open source for demo purposes.

Although finding a BB ticker can get tough at times, Bloomberg's got a symbol lookup feature on their site (as well as fund screener for those interested in funds) helping to deal with their symbology.
