Would like to request the addition of a Trailing Stop Rule in the Rule Library.

In the Rule Library under "Entries and Exits" / "Trailing Stops" could we add "ATR based Trailing Stop"?

possible description; Sells the open long position next bar using a stop order. The stop price trails an ATR multible amount below the highest high achieved since the position was opened.

Eugene, sorry to ask for help but I have loaded this 3 times and can't find the new rules in WL???

1. I have done this process before without problems ( Community Rules )
2. I have downloaded the file (several times), just to make sure
3. made sure WL was closed
4. have windows 7 and am loading extracted file to correct "Rule file"
5. I can see you added the new rules when I open the code

Can you plese check to see if this loads ok for you??

If you can't find them there, let me know which WLP edition you're running (64-bit or 32-bit, see WLP title bar) and in which exact folder have you unpacked the XML file.

Eugene, this one is driving me crazy!

I have windows7, 64bit, 4 gig, all updates, WL 6.4.0.49, used windows right click extract function and loaded the extracted file to C:\Users\Bill Grove\AppData\Roaming\Fidelity Investments\WealthLabPro\1.0.0.0\Data\Rules.

I see the new file there and when I open the file I see the new rules you added! When I start WL, and a new rule based Strategy, the new rules are not there! I expected them as you have shown above.

Please follow the Installation Note on the Wiki page. The Rules must go in the WLP installation folder \Data\Rules subdirectory (not the User Data folder).

It never pays to get too confident when dealing with software! Just when you think you know what your doing, we fail to look at the details!

Bottom line is that this is a really good add to the Rule Library. As a side note; adding an ATR based option to the;

BASIC EXITS (long), Sell At Profit Target, "options" Percent or ATR multible would be a nice add also!!

I am not requesting that now as I know you guys have other good stuff in process. Maybe a future add?

Bill, extending an existing rule by Fidelity (i.e. "canned" one) will take a lot of time: if we're lucky, it will be delivered with the next build that is 6.5.

Therefore it's practical to include "Sell/Cover at ATR Profit Target" in Community.Rules. Will keep you posted.

And "Sell/Cover at ATR Stop Loss" too.
