Hi Cone & Eugene,
I have one strategy that is not updating prices when click in the ticker in the list. It is a daily chart/strategy. If I reload chart history it gets updated. Is there something missing in the code that would would force an update?
Thanks again
Tobey

In checking further. Streaming makes a difference. If streaming is on, prices are updated to the current date. If streaming off prices are not up to date. The thing is when you run the strategy you have to turn of streaming data, Then the question is, is the strategy running on current data? It looks to me that it is not because some of the alerts are bases on older dates.

Hi Tobey,
Data is updated either manually:
1. via Update All Data / Update DataSet or
2. on demand update (backfill/update) which takes place in the background upon clicking "Stream" or
3. right-clicking a chart and selecting "Reload chart history" (from scratch)
or automatically:
1. with "Automated Data Updates" and/or
2. "On Demand Data Updates" enabled.
If on demand update is disabled and no scheduled update is set, data is not updated unless you do it by e.g. streaming.
P.S. However, I can imagine a borderline case with the Fidelity static data - but only if certain symbols of the DataSet not get updated, hardly any given symbol.

Fidelity data can not be updated except for X minute and the many forum threads would explain it. If you'd be attentive to the data update logs you might notice that they end abruptly? That might be it.

Hi Eugene,
I do have Automated Data Updates Scheduled. How ever most nights I go to the Data Manager-Update Data-Update all data for selected providers now at 7pm East Coast time, The charts are not showing up dated bars after I have done a nightly update. I did have "On Demand Data Updates" off. Turning it on seams to make a difference. I thought there was a reason to keep it off, something to do with running strategies when the market was open. Is it best to keep "On Demand Data Updates" enabled at all times.
Thanks
Tobey

"On Demand Data Updates" makes difference when it concerns symbols that aren't in your DataSets (and respective radio button isn't activated in the Data Manager), or as a workaround to a recently discovered issue with certain Fidelity fundamental data not getting updated without it. If you wish to get further with troubleshooting please refer to the "P.S." in my post #3 above about the importance of data update log.
