Hi!

I am trying to include the fundamental data, assets, into my strategy.

And, I have the following basic code "structure":

The console continues to show "NULL!!!" which means the fi object is null...

I have download the needed Fidelity Fundamental Data. And, also check out the quick reference guide about " FundamentalItem".

The "Bars.Symbol" and "bar" show up correctly.

Do I miss something before the "FundamentalItem fi = GetFundamentalItem(bar, Bars.Symbol, "assets");"?

Or do I need to include certain libraries by using the "using" keyword?

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

After further investigation, I figure out that the symbols (Russell 2000) that I run against -- half of them are without certain kind of fundamental data from Fidelity Fundamental Data download and that is why I am getting the null object.

Is there any way that I can get more complete Fundamental Data from Fidelity? Or, maybe could some other data providers provide more complete Fundamental Data that covers Russell 2000?

Here you have their list to experiment with: MS123 Providers, scroll down to Fundamental, economic items and historical news. Two providers seem to have similar items: Morningstar (free, annual) has Asset Turnover and YCharts (paid, quarterly) has Assets and Asset Utilization. Furthermore, Assets is a free item at YCharts to try out on limited data range only.

Good suggestion and I have contacted Fidelity to see why the lacking of fundamental data within the Russell 2000. And, also I will try out all the different fundamental data providers to see which one will best fit my need, thanks!

Just to be on the safe side: note that "Assets" by YCharts will have a fundamental item name different from Fidelity's. You'll see it on the Fundamentals list.
