I am having problems with the Google and QuoteMedia static providers not updating data.
To reproduce the problem:
For Google:
1. Delete %2EINX.WL if present from the GoogleProvider>Daily directory
2. Create a Google Daily DataSet containing the symbol .INX
3. Click Update DataSet
The Data Update Log shows the following:
QUOTE:
Updating DataSet Google Indicies ...
Up-to-date symbols: 0, Update required for: 0, New symbols: 1
Updating new symbols...
Symbol: .INX, Bars added: 0
Update completed (0.250 sec)
Wealth-Lab does not create the file %2EINX.WL as expected. When I open a new Chart Window and attempt to chart .INX, it says No Data Available.
For QuoteMedia:
1. Delete ^SPX.WL if present from the QuoteMediaProvider>Daily directory
2. Create a QuoteMedia DataSet containing the symbol ^SPX
3. Click Update DataSet
The Data Update Log shows the following:
QUOTE:
Updating DataSet QuoteMedia Indicies ...
Up-to-date symbols: 0, Update required for: 0, New symbols: 1
Updating new symbols...
Error: One or more errors occurred.
Update completed (1.640 sec)
Wealth-Lab creates the file ^SPX.WL with a size of 1 KB. When I open a new Chart Window and attempt to chart ^SPX, it says No Data Available.

I've looked into it this Sunday evening and it's not a problem at all. Neither .INX is supported by Google for data export nor Quotemedia itself would return any data for ^SPX to the provider. With the free feeds there's no surprise that for anything (like Forex, indices, futures or intl. symbols) but U.S. stocks you may see a chart on their website but will not get the data. This is why you see an error or 0 bars returned.

OK, but I'm having the same issue with U.S. stocks. Substituting AA produces the same results, except that the error message regarding the Google DataSet is:
QUOTE:
Updating DataSet Google Indicies ...
Up-to-date symbols: 0, Update required for: 0, New symbols: 1
Updating new symbols...
Error: One or more errors occurred.
Update completed (0.296 sec)
and AA.WL is created with a size of 1 KB.

But AAPL is fine so the new issue only affects symbols with short tickers like A, AA or Q. Anyway, I was able to nail down the culprit. Please update the provider to v2017.12.1 using the Extension Manager and restart WLP.
P.S. We will have to live with the absent company names for such symbols with short tickers (like 1 or 2 letters).

Thanks for doing this so fast on a Sunday night Eugene. To make your Monday morning not fun either, I think you need to fix the QuoteMedia static provider, which has the same problem. See Posts #1 and 3.

Fixed. Thanks.

Apparently, the Google Finance data has now broken beyond repair.
