Is there a way to break down the industry in a trading system?

I want to know if there is a way to isolate the Stock sector for a portfolio trading system, e.g. Sand P 500, so thaat I can tell which sector has the greatest or the least effect on perfornamce? Thanks, Mike

Search for keywords like industry, GICS, sector etc. and see the Guides (GICS should be documented there).
