I have 50 yrs of ASCII data from Premiumdata.net. It includes all stocks ever delisted, still listed & PinkSheets for the past 50yrs(37000 symbols in all). Roughly 10% of the delisted only, return the following error msg.... "Cannot Synchronize. No overlapping dates". When I inspect the charts in question, I find no obvious problems in the historical data.
My question is: What is most common cause of this kind of error msg. Not asking you for a remedy necessarily, would just like to know what could cause such an error msg. Remaining 90% of delisted symbols(historical data) trade just fine and produce no error msgs.
Thanks in advance for any wisdom you can impart.

"Cannot Synchronize. No overlapping dates"
This means that the data you're trying to Synchronize to the current chart doesn't have any dates that correspond to the current chart. In other words stock "A" goes from 1950 to 1990, but stock "B" (the one you're charting) starts after 1990 - there's no overlap for synch.

You guys nailed it! Thank you for your wisdom.
I was doing a 20+yr study starting in 1988. The script used a comparison symbol "SPY", that didn't start until 1993(oops).
I was going to subsitute .SPX for SPY but turns out my Fidelity data source starts .SPX on 12/2/1991.
No problem. I'll just shorten the study to 1992 forward.
Cheers
