Currently it's not possible to do.

Thank you for the feature request.

I second the request for a %change status. Honestly, for indexes, I'm only interested in %change (like the Fidelity website shows). For other ticker symbols, a points (dollar) change will do.

A better option would be to have a plug-in (I mean a string.format() string, not a "real" plug-in) for the streaming ticker. The advantage of using a string.format() string is that you wouldn't have to publish a formal API. Not all WL users are coders, but they can read about using "%" in string.format(); that's not that hard. The %change can be one of the "{1}" string.format parameters.

Fixing some of the current WL bugs should have higher priority, though.

Indeed it has!

a string.format() string

I'd strongly vote against that. It's too techie and thus is counter to the "Wealth-Lab way". A point/percent choice should be there if this nice feature request is ever considered.

Well, it's a little techie. But so are "optional" parts of WL.

My original suggestion was to follow the ticker symbol with a "%" as in ".SPX%" in the streaming preferences box if you wanted the changes to be expressed as a percentage instead of points. There's no need to show the changes is both percentage and points; that's too much clutter.

Modifying the symbol name is not acceptable for different reasons. This might break 3rd party streaming data providers. Finally, it's plain counterintuitive and requires reading the manuals.

Agreed. Perhaps providing two separate preference boxes for listing streaming symbols would be more intuitive. One box for streaming indexes to list %changes and another box for streaming stocks to list point changes. And that would be more self documenting in the preferences window.

Let's not cook a hare before catching him. There's no agreement to committing the change at all yet.
