Snapshots is a new extension that allows to take snapshots of Strategy code, its key performance metrics and strategy's Equity:

Snapshots in the Wiki

Think of it also as a backup facility and version comparison tool for your Strategy code.

"Snapshots" is part of MS123 Performance Visualizers starting from version 2013.06.

just saw it and it is really cool to have some of this functionality back. It's ok not to record the B/H and Long vs Short columns on the results. But would you guys include the results coming from other alternative Performance Visualizers, so that other metrics can be included and compared by?

I have tried this visualizer, and for some reason after saving one result and changing tabs to see perofrmance or the equity curve, the computer starts beeping, all my cpu cores go to 100% for a while and the wealth lab window grays out during that time, until it is able to display the output in the screen.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

No, it's impossible. BTW, this is why the results in Snapshots do not come from any Performance Visualizers but are generated by the tool itself.

AFAIR, they are dropped purposefully: to avoid sluggish performance. Each "column" consumes CPU cycles, slowing down performance a little bit.

Possible reasons: computer is not fast enough, too much data, too many trades, or too many large snapshots taken, or a combination of them. Saving and loading snapshots in XML format incurs some processing overhead.
