When I change, say, a CreateParameter's default value then recompile, the new setting does not display in the "Strategy Parameters" window. Nor does "Reset" solve the problem and sometimes doesn't even show in the window. Very frustrating, since it's too easy to forget the necessary slider adjustment.

If Reset doesn't show, change a parameter and it will appear. This happens because you've altered a strategy parameter value using Save Parameters. In this case, this new value has become the default. I agree with you but this is the design.
