WL4 had a very nice study named Trendlines that drew trendlines automatically. Are there any plans to translate it to WL.NET?

No current plans, meaning that the road is clear for your contribution ;)

I don't want to see the study go to waste, so here's what I propose - you do the top half and I will (try to) do the bottom half (from '//Start the trendline search' onwards). ;)

That is quite a nice study, isn't it? Sure would be great for someone to translate it for the Community.Components!

I agree as well, Robert's made some great code.

If I think of a way to improve it, I could beef it up for an AT Trading Systems Lab. That would make it worth my time.

AT Mag is a great idea but since originally it was a TASC article, there has to be some novelty/improvement/change or the editor might refuse accepting it.

In reality, the Trendlines study is all my work. I'll review it again, but I think that Vervoot used a subjective technique in the TASC article, and, the MS code didn't have the ability to backtest. The "accelerated" trendlines were, perhaps, a novel idea in the article, but those can easily be suppressed. I don't think anyone can claim a copyright to drawing Trendlines!

--- Just looked at the article. Author quote: "Note: You cannot use this test in real time. It uses the zigzag function and this function looks into the future if data is available, as is the case here."

On the other hand, our Trendline study ensures that you can use it in realtime and it indicates when a Trendline is actually valid for use in backtest.

You may need to clarify this with the editor, what exactly did he mean when saying that to me a while ago. I took this for my guideline: something featured in the other magazine, shouldn't be re-used in TSLs. Of course, drawing trendlines is out of the question of claiming copyrights - but w/o the S&C article at hand, I just wanted to give a heads-up about a potential duplicate content issue.
