Hello,
I am using Wealth Lab Developer Version 6.9.15, 64-bit Edition on Windows 7 Professional on a notebook with an Intel i7-2640 core and 2x4 GB RAM.
My backtasting data are ASCII, files extension csv and txt, date, 15 min open, high, low, close.
When I ran a test 13 years back with more than 5,000 trades and Windows close Wealth Lab. Below 5,000 trades everything ran good.
I shoose future settings in the toolbox because this is an ES. I also activated Data Manager, ASCII Data, Cache ASCII Data. But the error code stays.
Do you have an explanation?

I had an eureka moment and think that you may be getting an "out of memory" exception. It's not surprising with ASCII data and a big number of trades. Here are steps to take in order to avoid it:
FAQ | Strategies and WealthScript > Out of memory problems
Most importantly:
1. Disable as many performance visualizers as possible and reopen the strategy window.
2. Optimize strategy code.
3. Minimize RAM usage: close running apps and services.
4. Restart WLD and your PC. P.S. Renamed the undescriptive title "WealthLab error on Windows 7 whilst testing" to "Out of memory error with 5K+ trades on ASCII data".

The error message is: 'The program do not run properly due to a problem. The program will close and you will be notified if a solution is available.'(translation from german)
I will test your suggestions and write again.
