What is the purpose "the Run this Strategy" button in Strategy Monitor? When I attempt to run a strategy which is activated in Strategy Monitor for the purpose of seeing any alerts, nothing happens.
thanks

The purpose, as the User Guide tells, is to see Alerts if you don't want to wait for the scheduled Next Run time. If you don't see Alerts, you strategy probably haven't generated any alerts for this bar.
On the contrary, if the Strategy window does have Alerts, you need to verify that the Strategy has been properly set up in Strategy Monitor, i.e. data loading range and position size are identic to the Strategy chart.

When you click the "Run this Strategy" button, it sets the time to the current time for the next run but it does not appear to be running anything. Is there an hour glass indicator that is supposed to show you that it is running in the background?
Also, in the "Trades" column it shows "3" but I cannot see any of the trades it is referring to.
Thanks

1 - What does the 'Action' column says in SM? This is a 'hour glass' indicator, telling what a strategy is doing. Does the 'Symbol pending updates' in the status bar increases and then becomes 0?
So, what about checking the 2nd paragraph in my reply # 8/13/2010 7:31 AM ?
2 - You cannot see any of the SM trades in the strategy chart? Again, how about paragraph #2.
