In the WealthLab 6.1 language documentation it seems that using constructors is the preferred method for instantiating indicators in general. However neither ADX nor ADXR have constructors defined for them, and instead we have to use the ADX.Series method to use those indicators.
I was wondering if there is any fundamental reason for this, or just a slip of the development process? Can you shed more light in terms of when an indicator will not have a constructor?

It's an exception. The directional indicators ADX, ADXR, DIMinus, DIPlus, and DX are created using a factory method. There may be other exceptions, but this is the only one like it that I can recall.
