if i click on BAC in my daily dataset i get "no data available" and no chart shows up. if i try to run a strategy on it there no trades. basically it looks like the quote are not available. i don't see the same problem with other symbols. i am using V 6.0.55.
i tried reloading chart history to no avail. then i went and deleted BAC.WL from the static provider folder and updated the dataset: "BAC 4801 bars 12/17/2010 4801 bars added"
but i still get the empty chart.
what to do?

i wonder if this has anything to do with WikiLeaks...

First, turn off Streaming. Now does the data show up? If not, what's the data loading range? Try "All Data". By the way, what static data provider you're talking about?

i am not sure what happened but today BAC chart/data is back.
Streaming was off. By static provider i meant the fidelity data in the folder FidelityStaticProvider.
i had the same problem with BAC before. if it reoccurs i will update the thread.

i knew it would come back!
the problem is back and it is BAC specific. other people must see the same problem.
i get DATA NOT Available when trying to chart or running a script. BAC is the only stock I see this problem with. Logging in/out of Fidelity does not help. Reloading chart history does not help. Restarting WL does not help.
30-min looks fine
data manager claims the data is up-to-date for the Daily: "BAC 4808 bars 12/29/2010 3 bars added"

I don't see it and never have.
1. Using the same chart window, other tickers are plotted?
2. What's the data range?
3. In the Data Manager, click on the Dow 30 DataSet and then select "Symbol Details" in the toolbar. What does it say for BAC?
4. Create a ticket and attach the BAC.WL data file from the Daily\B folder.

strange but it is working now. i had WLP open for some time and then was playing with a couple of strats when i noticed that i am able to see BAC chart again.
1. i don't know how to plot a diff symbol in the same chart window.
2. i presume the data range was all 4808 bars that Fidelity has for BAC
3. 4808 12/29/2010
4. i will wait for the bug to re-appear and then will attach BAC.WL

Update: maybe it is a dataset problem. I have BAC in two different datasets (both Daily, both from Fidelity). Right now BAC from one dataset does not show the chart but BAC listed in the second dataset is fine.
now that i have noticed this i will check both datasets to see if the pattern persists. i do believe that the problem is intermitent. BAC from the "bad" dataset did start to work eventually. will report back...

I must apologize for wasting everybody's time :(
I kept jumping between my two datasets without realizing it. the culprit BAC has space at the end of the symbol and is not read correctly. Cone's test with "Symbol Details" was a good one I just looked in the wrong dataset.
***update: i am not sure it was actually the space at the end of BAC because i can't recapitulate this as WL removes extra spaces. probably some other character crept in there and was invisible

Please look in the DataSet xml file that has the bad symbol... the bad character might be obvious there in the symbol list.
