Does Wealth-Lab Pro 5.3 support backtesting output for individual equities/funds that shows strategy results in terms of compounded results rather than profits per trade and total profits for the strategy?? I would like to "daisy-chain" the results from trade #1 ( i.e., 5K => 6K) into trade #2 (invest 6K, rather than using the fixed postion of 5K) and the results from trade #2 into trade #3, and so forth.

If so, could someone please advise how to incorporate this output into Wealth Lab. Thanks!!

Hi,

Is that different from switching to Portfolio Simulatiom mode and selecting "100% of equity" (however, something you should know when selecting 100% sizing is explained in the Wealth-Lab User Guide, Strategy Window > Backtesting Strategies > 100% of Equity Sizing)?

Thanks for your response!!

I followed thru with your recommendations of 1) using Portfolio Simulation mode and the 100% Equity Setting and 2) reading the info on 100% sizing in the User Guide. Not unexpectedly (after reading the Users Guide), when I set Equity at 100% and then back-tested, trades were left out. In oder to correct this problem, I set the margin factor to 2:1. While the results look very good for the ending capital value relative to my request for a method to calculate "daisy-chain" results, The Buy and Hold values are significantly effected because the system provides 2X starting capital. Is there a more sophisticated work-around for this problem other than to do two back-tests, one for the daisy-chained value of the strategy and the other for the Buy and Hold value obtained by taking a single fixed postion???

One other characteristic of the default setting for back-testing that I've noticed is that the Buy and Hold starts with the first trading bar once a Period has been designated. I'm looking at strategies that start after the first trading bar of the designated Period. Could you please advise how to sync the start of the Buy and Hold bar with the first bar of the trading strategy???

Thanks for your assistance.
