When I load SQQQ with 5 minute increments it goes to 12/19/11 showing a very huge drop and then shooting back up. All other increments I have tried work OK - 10 min, 30 min, daily.

1. Open up a chart of SQQQ 5-min
2. Make sure it's not compressed e.g. not coming from a 1 minute DataSet
3. Right click and select "Reload chart history"
4. Wait until WLP completes refreshing the data (can take time)

Does the data look OK now?

No. I did what you said. Said chart data reloaded but still stuck o 12-19-11.

Which proves that it's not a Wealth-Lab problem. You may be hitting a server with bad data. Please report Fidelity data problems directly into Fidelity phone support. Thanks.

I'm not seeing any problem with the 5-minute Fidelity data for SQQQ. Let me give 2 more options:

1. If it's just one bar causing the trouble, double click it and change the price.

2. Replace your SQQQ.WL file with mine. Unzip the attached file to this location:
C:\Users\[your Windows login]\AppData\Roaming\Fidelity Investments\WealthLabPro\1.0.0.0\Data\FidelityStaticProvider\5 minute\S

Hi Cone and thanks for the response. If I double click on the one bar that looks strange it says "bar data editor is not available for this chart".

Re other option, can you tell me how to unzip the file? Thanks.

Did I tell this?

But you are looking at the compressed 5-minute chart. Create a 5-minute DataSet, update it, and open up a chart from that DataSet. Then you'll be able to see the real 5-minute data and not some compressed 1-minute.

Windows has had built in support for zip archives for years.

Yeah again!! Success. When I opened the program I opened TQQQ to 5 minute candles. Then opened a chart for SQQQ with 5 minute also. The cursor spun a long time as it tried to open the chart. But eventually it opened properly showing 5 minute candles. Thanks 2 each of you for your help.

Good to hear.

Somehow you opened the chart in the native 5-minute scale and on demand data update (enabled by default) has done its job of data backfill.

The reasonable place to answer basic questions like this is the Wealth-Lab User Guide > Data Manager > Create New DataSet.

If it's the first time you download intraday data, especially 1, 3, or 5 minute bars, it can take several minutes per symbol to retrieve. Thereafter, loading should be fast - but don't use "All Data" unless you really want that for a very large intraday backtest. For trading, you should limit your data to only what you need to calculate indicators and current positions - like the most recent few weeks.
