Can't get signals to show as orders routed to IB automatically

Is anyone using IB and Visual Studio for Automated Trading.

I have it and I get buys and sells displayed on my chart, however I can't figure out how to get these to show up as orders and routed to IB automatically.

I end of clicking on the chart to generate a order and then manually editing the order in the order window and then placing it. It works well for day trading, however it is not machine based auto trading.

Even if the order system worked, I'm not sure I can always match orders using a dollar based amount. I would likely need to use a fixed lot size to get it to work.

Not VS, but I use the ib provider that Eugene mentioned. Works great for me.

Are you trying to create your own broker provider? If not, what are you doing in VS?

Apologize. I mean VayaStudio. That is the setup pointed me to as a replacement to Fidelity.

I have IQFEED and setup for 1min bars with WLD running. Typical trades produced are in the attachments. But they do not automatically go to my Order window or to IBData for execution. I have to do that all manually.

However you are running automatic trading and can execute multiple trades on minute bars across multiple symbol? I have 5 to 6 symbols to manage at once and trying to do it manually is a bit taxing.

Yes I'm using what Eugene suggested but something is not setup correctly. When I go to turn on auto-trading in the order menu I only see paper accounts.

Below is what I got from Eugene. I always wanted to use IBD, but never motivated enough until Fidelity terminated the service.

It says IBD allows the orders to be Manually Placed, but also says Auto-Trade.

I'm basically swing trading on minute bars with reasonable win/loss ratio and can't trust myself to sit at the computer and get the trades correct over a long interval. The market moves when I'm not looking or busy. While I sometimes do a better job the consistency and concentration needed to essentially play a video game is a bit taxing so I was hoping to get auto-trading working and then just manage positions that need help.

Sounds like not a broker provider's issue but more like AtClose orders or "bar vs. bar+1". Please check out this FAQ:

I agree, something isn't set up correctly. Carefully through the set up on their website or contact Vaya Studios.

Ok. I will contact Vaya Studios. Not sure if I mentioned it, but when I go to turn on auto-trading, I only see paper accounts even though my IBD account is listed as the active account. It just does not part of the automated trading account list to turn on.

You only see paper accounts but the active account is listed? It's hard for me to understand that statement. Maybe you could post a picture.

fwiw, you can't Auto-Trade Paper AND Live accounts simultaneously. It's one or the other, by design. Auto-Trading has 3 modes:
1. Off
2. Paper Accounts, OR,
3. Live Accounts
