I want to create my own extension for commissions but cannot find documentation or examples on coding commssions. Can some one point me in the right direction please.

you need recompile sources for make dll file with your comission. you cant set comission in WLD programm. Only in sources of comission dll.

Configuring commission will be available starting from v5.4 of Developer, and there's a good chance that % commission will be included in Community.Commissions:
