In past many months, after login Wealth-lab, press control-K, WealthLab Pro will pop up. But start from today, it just running on backup ground, no windows pop up.
Please advise.
from Task manager, you can see it running on background.
Reboot PC would not solve the problem.
Thanks
William

Fidelity's support of Wealth-Lab Pro stopped last Friday. You need to down load Wealth-Lab Developer and also find a new data supplier.

William, forget about WLP: it's decommissioned and not supported. Please complete your transition to WLD. You've already enrolled and received instructions by email.

I have Interactive broker. Can I use it with WLP, is there a streaming plug-in?

You will find answer in the transition instructions emailed to you or by searching the Most Recent forum view.

I completed the free registration yesterday. I'd like to get the WLD download link and info on transferring strategies as soon as possible since WLP stopped working. Is it somewhere else in the forum or wiki?
Size:

It's in the form of emailed letter with instructions on what steps to take next. Please double check your mail, including spam and junkmail folders. The instructions are sent when one enrolls, and then repeated weekly.

Sorry, could not find anything in spam or other folders. Should I try the registration again?

I am also coming over from Fidelity. What is the process to download? I was told I would get 12 months no charge. How do I link my account with Wealth Lab with that offer?
Thanks

Eugene,
You mentioned "You've already enrolled and received instructions by email." ,
which mail ? , was this sent to email registered at Fidelity account or this account?
As I did not receive any email, on either email accounts.
I am in real panic mode. There was no warning, or any message from Fidelity. I mean how can customers be treated
like this. Please help.
Thanks again
Sofia

Sofia, I mentioned this to a customer who had
actually enrolled in the program. I can't find your enrollment record.
As a Fidelity customer you might have received a notice in Fidelity's
Communications Center on the website. They sent a broadcast message that has the transition registration link embedded. If you can't find it there, please ask your Fidelity rep.

I received the email, thank you. I tried to download the migration tool but I got a screen that said "couldn't preview file There was a problem with the preview. retrying... download" (button). what do you suggest? should I keep trying, waiting or just try later.
thanks

Don't choose Preview but Download. There's a separate button for this in Google Drive.

Hi Eugene,
No it is not there . I spoke with their tech support. They suggested I register to WLD site and download the app.
Will try
Thanks.

Ok, I just found it. It was sent 7/10.
Will follow instructions.. Hope WLD not too different than
the one supported by Fidelity, and I can transfer my programs.
Thanks again.

I appreciate that but I did choose download (off the email). In fact I don't see any Preview button. I did complete my enrollment with credit card.

At the risk of repeating, you chose Preview. The Download button for the Migrator tool is on the top and it's working. You have to trust Google on that! :)
Size:
Color:
At the risk of appearing old the word "Preview" does not appear on the email. When I click on the hot link "clicking here" in the email (referring to the migration tool) I get the screen I referenced previously which says "Couldn't preview file...". I tried clicking on the word "preview" but nothing happened. My sense is there is something basic that I am missing.
thanks

I have not received any emails regarding deactivation from Fidelity.
How do I now get access to wealthlabpro??

At the risk of repeating for the 3rd time: click Download, not preview or whatever. Hope this is more clear now...

Please complete your transition to WLD. You've already enrolled and received instructions by email. Check spam and junkmail folders, too.

Eugene, thanks for being patient with me. I have been using Wealth Lab many years and its a great system. Please believe me when I tell you I have been pushing that Download button since 11:00. It does create a ZIP file called MigrateWLP (17KB compressed) and I get a box that says "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item." After some research I found out that Norton thinks this file is a modest threat and is not letting it open.
I am now trying to figure out how to let Norton know I want to open it. Do you agree? Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks

@coachal115
It's your call whether to trust us or Norton and do migration by hand.

I ran into same problem with WLP today.
Received nothing from Fidelity about this change and no link to any download.
Will pursue that link with Fidelity (unless you can provided better/faster one), but need some basic info about the change from WLP to WLD.
1. Is WLD backward compatible with my chart annotations used with the Fidelity data source, such that these can be easily transferred to the new platform? Have thousands of hours of work there that I don't want to lose.
2. If so, please provide guidance on how to implement the transfer and the recommended data source to use.
Thanks,
Bill C

Eugene,
Sorry, it may seem very obvious to most here, but I am not that tech savvy and hardly use windows. So I am asking
these questios which might sound silly to most. Sorry
So I am listing steps in case others have same problem understanding transferring from
Fidelity WLP to WLD
first step : Follow the link that Fidelity sent , and register [ Done]
second step : Migrating strategies and data [Download migration tool by clicking the link], download zip file
unzip [Done]
third step : To enroll and download Wealth-Lab Developer, please follow this link.[ Now this is what is confusing,]
At the top it says it is a free trial for next 6 months etc, but there is billing info under it , required to be filled out.
I don't see any free download link for WLD like the one for Migrating strategy.
So do we have to go ahead with credit card and billing ?????????help
fourth step : Get access to streaming data ??
fifth step ??
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I am so much involved with this tool that, not being able to get it working is
very stress full, specially in this horrible market and Covid environment.
Please help.. Thanks.

It is not a matter of trust. I know how to disable Norton. And I am "in". I was wondering if you have seen this before.
The download began to open but stopped. Several instructions came with the download and maybe you can direct me.
a. Log in with the Windows User who uses Wealth-Lab Pro. (don't understand...My computer is opened with my login password.)
b. Right click MigrateWLP.exe and 'Run as Administrator' (how do I get to MigrateWLP.exe)
c. Close Windows Explorer...(that I can do)
There are more instructions but I want to get past these.
Sofia, I can shed some light on the "free trial". We are signing up for an 18 month agreement. But the first 6 months are free. The $150 is for the follow on. I had the same question and a guy from Fidelity researched this for me.
Nice job laying out the steps. I wish I had that 5 hours ago. Now how did you get past the second step? I can't get the ZIP file to download and/or open. It only goes part way.
Thanks

Hi,
Before I sign up for anything for 18 months, I want to be clear on a few questions please:
1) We are committing to paying $150 for use of WLD through 12/31/2021 and nothing else for the use, correct?
2) Are there free streaming services available? I.e. something that allows quote window use?
3) Automatic trading on Fidelity will be disabled correct?
Those are the main questions I can think of for now.
Thanks

You do know it's a ZIP so to get it you have to unzip the archive.

@coachal115 has summed it up correctly. After you enroll in the transition prorgam for $150 you get 1/2 year free in addition to the paid year. The migration instructions will follow after payment.

Yes in general to all three questions (3rd party data feeds are paid separately). You will find detailed answers among the many forum topics.

Hi Coachal115,
You may want to login as root /admin and downloading the zip file and try unzipping. I don't use Nortan and my antivirus tool did
warn about the file, but I was able to over rule it and continue. Now I have mapped data.
Thanks for the clarification of maintenance fee.
But how do I get WLD ? , Do I have to first pay the maintenance fee to get to the WLD download link ?
Or is it different link ?
Thanks

Soon after you enroll in the program, you'll receive payment instructions by email and after purchase you'll get WLD.

Eugene, I tried payment with AMEX, but looks like that link is static, not responding , ie PAY 150 USD
Tried few times, but didnt get any response back like confirmation. Can you please check ?

sofia, you should create a support ticket for your payment issues.
Everybody please don't turn this topic into a chat. It's a suboptimal experience. Screen the Most Recent view for actual questions and start a new topic if your problem isn't being discussed.

Good Morning.
Three question RE transfer to Developer from Pro:
1) What suffix does Developer us to name yahoo downloaded data files? dotWL?
2) Where are the files stored? My dataset has already become corrupted leading to messed up backtests. Thank you.
3) Is there a transition page (FAQ) ?
Thank you.

Hi,
Please don't pack different questions into one thread, especially an unrelated one like this.
1) Kindly use a suitable forum topic on Yahoo data or start a new one.
2) This one has been answered dozens of times and can be found by searching the forum. It's on the Wiki FAQ and even in the User Guide.
3) No but the transition email should address most frequently raised questions.
Last but not least, it might be optimal to express your actual problem (what you think is "DataSet corruption") in a new topic.
Thanks.

Fidelity is saying that their customers can use Wealth-Lab (I assume it is now Developer) until the end of this year. Is this incorrect?
Size:
Color:
Fidelity said that the yearly maintenance fee of $150 will be waived for 2020. What this practically means is that if you enroll now in an 18-month maintenance plan for $150, you get 6 months for free with the purchase. So the next annual payment date will be in February 2022.
