What are the Best Indicators or strategies to determine whether a stock is in a trading range or trend, so that strategies can switch between trending or oscillators?

I can only point to a few ones that help determine between range/trend. What are the best is up to you. Off the top of my head:

AroonDown and AroonUp
Volatility Switch
Dreiss Choppiness Index
Price Zone Oscillator
ADX to some extent
