Hi,
I will appreciate if some one can tell me how to get all the industry/sector specific indices from fidelity in to a data set.(as far as i can tell WL5 allows u to select stocks only for data set)
e.g. oil and gas index, semiconductor etc.
Yahoo has these sector/indices, e.g. ^YHOh705 is Indep Oil&Gas, but yahoo only seem to have only 5 days worth of data.
Also, where can i get the complete list of ETF traded in US market.

Sorry, you're asking for indices. A facility does not exist for that in Wealth-Lab. You'll have to find the symbols yourself and enter them manually.

Since I keep hearing this mantra, I'd like to add one thing. Yahoo stores the historical data for ETFs since their inception, and for certain stocks, they've got decades worth of data. Regarding ^YHOh705, Yahoo does not keep the data at all - not even 5 days are available for download, just like e.g. with futures.

many of the etfs in the above list are sector specific etfs -- sometimes sector "very" specific. in addition to fairly closely tracking the real-time nav, they have the advantage of being tradeable / backtestable. i had an intraday script that seemed to work very well on .SPX but when i substituted SPY it was only mediocre.

Going back to the original post of getting a list of industry/sector indices I have a yet
more complicated question. Since often the major performance of a stock is driven by the
performance of its sector, is there a way to link a stock to a sector index and plot both
of them on the same WLP chart? This seems a little complicated but this web site has
so many useful technical and fundemental utilities that it is worth a try.
