Hello,
I'm helping my friend get WLD up and running. I've been successfully using WLD with IB, so I thought we would be able to figure this out this morning, but we've run into some problems.
He's purchased a license of WLD, installed the IQ feeds data client, setup an Interactive Brokers account, downloaded and installed IB's TWS, and downloaded and installed IB Provider.
When I launch WLD on my computer with the working configuration, in TWS the API client row turns green... but his does not.
All settings between our two systems look the same, so this issue is puzzling. Also, on his computer, when he runs WLD he sees an error at the bottom of the screen that says: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it... 127.0.0.1; 7496".
Can you offer any help on getting this issue sorted out?
Thanks

Is API enabled in TWS options?

Also, you should launch TWS
before you launch WLD, and be sure TWS has a green Data signal. The IBProvider error message is simply telling you TWS isn't responding, which is true if you launched WLD before TWS.
If you're not getting a green Data signal from TWS, then your IB account hasn't subscribed to
both US equities and futures data ($10/mo), plus streaming US equities and ETF data ($4.50/mo). And your IB account needs to be funded for those subscriptions to take effect.

It turned out that he missed a step on the IB Provider setup instructions. It's working now.

I'd like to do some paper trading with WLD. If I remember correctly, IB Link breaks paper trading. Since I am no longer using IB Link I'd like to uninstall it, but they've taken their website down so I can't find the instructions on how to do so.
Can you give me any help on uninstalling IB Link so I can make paper trading work again?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure the last versions I looked at actually supported paper trading. Anyway, it puts an Uninstall.exe file in the WLD installation directory that you can run to remove the IBProvider.dll and config files.

Thanks, Cone. I just found and ran the uninstall.exe file.
