I have a CSIData static data adapter for Wealth-Lab 6.1 which I developed for my own use, is there any interest from anyone if I were to develop this into a commercial version? Note it would only work with 32 bit WLP/WLD as it requires the use of the CSIData COM libraries which are only available as 32 bit dlls.

The amazing thing about CSIData is that their trials are NOT free: 30-Day Trial for $20

For stocks I don't think it's really worth using CSI unless you need something way beyond what you can get from Yahoo (perhaps delisted stocks?). For futures though you really are hard pressed to find better data than CSI. Even if you don't believe their long running advertisement about data quality they are worth it just for the sheer coverage of basically all world futures markets and the length of the coverage (back to 1922 for CBOT wheat and the 1950s and 1960s for many other commodities). They are very expensive but they have stuff you can't get elsewhere (unless you want to pay even higher prices).

Regarding the paid trial I assume they provide support during the trial -- which you may need as their software is powerful but I can see many non-programmers having difficulty understanding how to use it (hence many support calls). Still it's pretty bold...

Personally I think the more data providers the better. New static and streaming providers will keep coming in this year (look for a major announcement shortly). Futures traders please chime in if you want to have the unabridged CSIData provider. (After all, who knows how long will TradingBlox keep offering their CSI data subset for free.)

having a CSI data provider would be great. Futures would be very useful, but also there is a huge difference in data quality and release-time between Y! and CSI for equity markets. BTW I use 64-bit WLP so ideally the CSI data provider would be compatible.

Just dropped by to wonder why is CSI and Y! equity data so different, considering that CSI supplies their data to Y! (Google, MSN).

I can't speak to the equity data I am only subscribed to the futures. I would try to host the 32 bit dll in an external process so it could be accessed via 64bit WL. Not sure I could do it of course
