I've commenced a three week trial using a data supply, limited to just two years. Premium data has been installed on my computer and updated, as per attached screenshot "Premium Data Update 20 Nov 2018". After creating a new Metastock data set "All Ordinaries Index" and appropriately clicking on "Symbol Details'', attached screenshot, ''Data Manager Screenshot 20 Nov 2018" indicates that all stocks have 0 bars. In light of Data Manager Screenshot it is not surprising that when attempting to run a strategy, response "No Data Available" is received.
I believe appropriate instructions have been followed in installing and updating Premium Data and in creating a new data set in WL. So, where have I gone wrong? How can problem be corrected.

First, just try restarting Wealth-Lab to reset the cache.
If that doesn't work, right click and delete that DataSet in the Data Manager and then recreate it again. (Don't worry, Wealth-Lab will not delete MetaStock data, only the reference to it.)
Aside: It's pretty strange that the Security Names are not listed either... anyway, let's see if you have success with the actions above and then take it from there.

thanks for suggestions Cone, but still same result

Have you double-checked that you've pointed WL to the correct MS folder which contains the actual ASX data?

Sorry you're still having trouble with this. I duplicated the symptom, which has to do with the A-Z folders option and the selection of the DataSet directory.
If you choose the option that "Data is located in subdirectories A to Z", you must point the wizard to the top-level folder that contains those folders. If you point to one of the underlying folders, you'll get the result shown.
However, it seems that this isn't exactly what you've done since your Data Manager shows 2,600 symbols detected. In any case, it would help to know exactly the options that you selected when creating the DataSet, and also what the Premium Data directory structure looks like - a screenshot would be great.

Thanks for your assistance, Cone.
Metastock data has been converted to csv and would seemingly not be corrupt.
Three screenshots attached. Directory structure added twice by mistake. ASX = Australian Stock Exchange. At this time I'm only interested in and subscribing to Australian share stocks.

Thanks for the images.
First thing, recreate the DataSet, but don't select any options except "Data is located in subdirectories A to Z". The other 3 options (checkboxes) do not apply.
Re: Metastock data has been converted to csv
If you're really working with CSV data, then you should use the ASCII provider to connect. This would be suboptimal, however, because you'd need to put all of the data in a single folder to see all the symbols simultaneously. Or, you'd have to create 26 ASCII DataSets and combine them with the
Aronow Watchlist extension.
Clearly it's best to use the Metastock adapter to point to the Metastock data - it will be much easier. It should work without the extra options selected.

Fantastic!!!
I am now able to use Metastock. Thank you very much.
Using data converted to CSV was a substitute suggested by another party, outside Wealth Lab, for use while I could not get Metastock to work in Wealth Lab.Using CSV is no longer necessary. :))

Glad you got it to work ;)

hi
hoping you can help as i am new to WL.
My ASX data seems to have no symbols in Data manager. They have disapeared. The US symbols remain.
Help?

Hi,
1. What data provider are you using for your ASX data - PremiumData, Yahoo, ASCII or anything else? Please clarify.
2. Did you uninstall some data provider? Or did you delete the DataSet?
The more details the better the chance to understand the issue and offer a solution.

Hi Eugene,
i am using PremiumData.
Within the data sets all my ASX indices no longer have any symbol content and are non expandable.
The US data is still fine but all my ASX names show 0 symbols.
I attempted to send you a screen shot but it is not accepting the attachment for some reason.
I have not deleted or uninstalled anything.

Shannon, thanks for the followup.

So this must be the MetaStock provider then (the logical choice).

I see, maybe the data source got relocated or something. Please try to recreate the Metastock DataSet under a different name, pointing it to the correct folder which contains the actual ASX data. Can't tell how your PremiumData is organized but if you choose the "Data is located in subdirectories A to Z" option, make sure you point to the top-level folder that contains subfolders. The other checkboxes should not be activated. Once it's done you may delete the old DataSet and/or rename the new one.

Thanks for the reply Eugene.
When began using wealth lab i actually had someone set it up for me. So i am not that familiar with the in`s and out`s. Are you able to provide me with the steps to do this please?

Color:
Sure. It's all in the Wealth-Lab User Guide (Help menu). Specifcally, Data > Data Manager > Create New DataSet and also one level below it:
... > Data Providers > MetaStock.
