Percentage change on chart - dragging point A to B?

Bloomberg has a neat click and drag function on a chart where you click point A and then point B and as you do it calculates the % (percentage change of the move) eg stock at $10 point A, at $15 point B, if you click and pull to B it immediately spits out 50% - ie the positive move.

I read something in the Wealthlab Beta testing pages somewhere about bringing this online but can't find it or be able to add the beta extension etc.

Anyone aware of this? It is a really great function in Bloomberg, but maybe a little complex to code for the Wealthlab platform.

Thanks

It's called Gain Ruler from MS123 Drawing Tools but it's not "here" yet (I mean as an extension). Currently, you can download it from the Wiki after logging in there with your Wiki account:

MS123 Drawing Tools

But as you do not have a Wiki account yet, you need to register and wait until we manually grant your account the rights necessary to download the attachment. Then you'll be able to see it as a green "Attachments" button. In the future we plan to upload it to the Extensions section with a number of other new extensions.

UPDATE 10/26/2018

To install it from Extensions section of our website, follow this link:

Thank you - yes that is exactly it. I created wiki account and went to the page link in your message. The text says that I need to ' Download and unzip the attached file to your Desktop or Downloads folder.' I can't see an attachment anywhere on this page (below) to download.

Where can I find the download file? Thanks

Like I said, nobody has the ability to download attachments instantly after registration. It's done manually for each account with a minimal delay. From this moment on, you can see and download attachments in the Wiki (if logged in there).

Right - I missed that 'manual' point in my excitement that you had it. I followed the steps on the page and unblocked and dragged into the Developer 6 folder. The WealthLab.Drawing.MS123.dll is now in that folder. I closed the Wealthlab program and re-opened it, but those icons in your examples aren't there. I'm not sure whether this is related to admin permissions that you mentioned - but am not sure how to do that.

If I click on the .dll file in the Developer folder it asks what app I want to open the file with and the list is ie, adobe etc which I don't think is the correct route.

Instructions were crystal clear until the last line. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Sorry for the trouble you're having. Wish we could upload it as an extension.

1. Double check that you have unzipped the file and it's the DLL that you placed into the, not the ZIP.

2. Verify that the DLL file is unblocked by visiting the main folder. Try unblocking it again there.

3. If having both 32-bit and 64-bit WLD installed on the same PC, make sure that you're not running 32-bit WLD, having placed the file into the 64-bit installation folder, and vice versa:

C:\Program Files\MS123\Wealth-Lab Developer 6
C:\Program Files (x86)\MS123\Wealth-Lab Developer 6

Great - it worked this time. I think I unblocked without first unzipping - deleted the download, repeated and it works. Hooray. Thx v much.

How does one get access to the MS123 Drawing Tools, specifically the Gain Ruler? These posts are about 4 years old.

And four years ago it's got very simple:

Hi, just downloaded WL 6.9 on new computer and seem to have lost the Gain Ruler. I clicked on the link above for easier installation, but that was 2 years ago and doesn't work.

Is there an easier way to add the 'Gain Ruler' now to the chart?
Thanks

Hi Eugene, thanks. I downloaded, opened and see the message re 'Wealthlab restart required' etc - see attachment. I've close the application twice and still have this message. I haven't rebooted my computer - just closed and reopened application. Any thoughts on why not updating? Thanks
