Request adding an "Alert Price" column (or whatever name you think is appropriate) to the alerts tab. This would get populated by the actual price when the alert is triggered from the Quotes. The quotes pane does show the streaming/current/tick price, but it is not captured at the time of alert generation. Having this captured would enable EOD analysis of alerts that were triggered throughout the day, e.g.

Doesn't the Quotes tool already have the Price column for Alerts at the bottom?

Yes, that is the "Target" price that is being monitored against. So for Limit orders, that would be the Limit Price. The actual alert price (snapshot of the so called "Last Price" in the Quotes tab above) at which the alert gets triggered could be above or even below this price, depending on the threshold and gap settings, as you know.

Thanks for the clarification. What EOD analysis of triggered alerts is on your mind, specifically? We'd need something more if we were to convince the developer team in the relevance of this feature. Help me see any.

You're welcome. There are at least 2 analyses this would be required for -
1. This Alert price is a critical data point between the strategy generated Limit price and the actual market price at which a subsequent order might execute. E.g. if a strategy determines a limit price of $100, the alert is triggered at $102 and the actual order executes at $103 (after conversion to a market order). This helps understand the overall "efficiency" of the process end to end.
2. Adjustments to the threshold can be made based on this. If triggers are getting generated too far (not advisable to take the trade as yet) or too close (not enough time to confirm the setup, place the order and catch the price), knowing what the price was at the time of alert can help fine-tune the threshold.
Before one can even think of using the tool to turn on auto-trading (and even with using quotes/alerts for manual trading), analyzing and understanding the above would be critical IMHO.
And especially when monitoring manually in real-time, sometimes several alerts get triggered at the same time. If the alert price is captured, at least one can go back and analyze which trades should have been taken.

If you're going to make adjustments to the threshold, wouldn't you want to know the
current price rather than the alert price?
Concerning a separate suggestion, you could make the Threshold Bar extend to 150% instead of 100%. Many times I wonder how far the threshold has reached over its stop (or limit) price before I make a trade. (I don't auto-trade. I like to stay in the loop when buying.)

The alert price
is the "current" price when the alert is triggered. That's the point.

The Alert price would tell you this, if it was being captured.

Well, the Alert price is a "stale version" of the current price. I would want the "real-time" current price, which is posted (and updated in real-time) in the upper pane of the Quotes window. But having the Threshold Bar indicator show how much
over 100% threshold a stock has gone so I know if it's too expensive at a glance would be handy.
There are some dynamics (multi-linear regression metrics) I like to check before buying a stock, and I print those in the Strategy Chart window. Since these metrics aren't part of the trading strategy itself, I need to check them manually before pulling the trigger. The nice thing about the Strategy Chart window is that you can include anything (fundamentals, regression results, R²) you want. But it can make the chart window cluttered with all these stats.
What would be nice is a way to click on an Alert (in the Quotes window) to open the corresponding Strategy window to check my metrics there.

In the Quotes window, Alerts may not always be originated from a Strategy. They can be created manually.

If the
Trigger Selected Item Now option is used to trigger the Alert manually, then clicking on it would open the corresponding Strategy that "manually triggered" the Alert.
I the Alert was simply keyed in manually (no strategy involved), then click on it would simply open a Chart window in this case (or a "default strategy" with user customized metrics displayed).

What's displayed in the tool currently is definitely useful. This thread is about the additional request I have (for the scenarios I gave) based on my usage, which doesn't preclude you from using the tool as it is currently.

I believe you have requested this previously on another thread. Please don't hijack this thread to include other unrelated requests and commentary, which dilutes the original request.
