whenever i try to run *any* strategy w/ < daily (e.g., 1 min, 30 min, 60 min etc) datasets, for any symbol, for any timeframe, I get the following error:

at System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Soap.SoapFormatter.Deserialize (Stream serializationStream, HeaderHandler handler)

Any help much appreciated. Never got this error on 1 min datasets with WLP 5.6

Clearly it has to do with the Database provider. For example, when it's configured as the default Streaming provider and you're trying to view a streaming chart of a symbol not found in Database provider's DataSets.

* Uncheck Streaming. Does the error persist?

* Open Preferences, Streaming, and select any other streaming provider - preferably Fidelity. Does the error persist?

Yes error persists - I do not have streaming checked in either scenario- Also appears in a 1 min random dataset not just 1 min Fidelity.

Is there a Benchmark Buy & Hold symbol configured?

How are you using Database provider? What actions (DataSet creation, configuration change etc) preceded the error?

Not sure why you mentioned 5.6 (unavailable I don't know how long, 6.0 was mandatory upgrade and 6.1 too) but try the following:

1. Close WLP 6.1
2. Delete the file DBStreamingSettings.xml from:
