In fidelity's market sentiment

NYSE Advancing Issues / Volume .MB_ADV.N has volume in it, and it has provided total Volume. I think this volume used is advancing volume. How can I backout the advancing issue ?

I wonder why I always find your topics in General category even if there may be a better place? Also why the topic titles always have to start from a small cap as well as all words they contain? Finally, why proper nouns like Fidelity or Unicorn and terms like DataSet always start from a small cap?

The Wealth-Lab forum is a public community and I'm sure that our users agree that the forum deserves to be easy on the eye. Having to assign proper category, fix spelling errors, rename proper nouns and make the first word in your topic titles Upper Case is now a habit. I'm pretty sure you have noticed that the elements of this 'small cap' style have been disappearing from all your topics for a better recognition of words. I'd appreciate if you share our vision of keeping the best appearance of the forum from now on.

Understood. In Fidelity's Market Sentiment Data guide, there is .MB_ADV.N symbol but it is providing advancing issues/ volume. If I were after only number of advancing issue, how/what can I use to obtain that ?

The .MB_ADV.N symbol returns the number of advancing issues in OHLC - not divided by volume. You might want to attach a screenshot in PNG format to help troubleshooting.

How that you mentioned it, the numbers are not fractions... Document screen shot attached and it shows that adv issues is divided by volume. Let me try that.

The misconception is coming from the division symbol "/" in the attached document. I think what it really tries to convey is that the number of advancing issues is in "OHLC" and their volume is in the "V" (Volume) DataSeries. But there's no division taking place. Does it make sense?

I can't say that I really know about the source of these data, but in many cases the Volume is either stale or missing. I certainly wouldn't rely on the volume data or use it in testing.

I was just going to ask that question... The past few days .MB_ADV.N volume field has been zero.

This is a Fidelity data issue, not a Wealth-Lab Pro problem. Please report Fidelity data problems and order/login issues directly into Fidelity phone support.

You can get the market sentiment data using our Wealth-Data provider - the advancing, declining and unchanged issues + new highs and new lows for AMEX, NASDAQ and NYSE!

You can create a W-D DataSet by copying/pasting the symbols or by choosing them from "MS" Classification Group in the New DataSet Wizard > Wealth-Data.

Just for convenience, here are the symbols:
