Hi!
Where can I find the changes in 6.9 (rather than go hunting for them)? ;)

It doesn't seem that Fidelity has the What's New? page updated yet for 6.9. But from "New and Noteworthy" in the User Guide for 6.9...
Wealth-Lab Pro® Version 6.9 introduces the possibility to create a synthetic option contract's historical data based on the Black-Scholes model and use it to backtest option trading strategies. Additionally, due to new integration with backend servers, Fidelity customers must upgrade to 6.9 to continue trading with Wealth-Lab Pro®. For bug fixes, see What's Changed.

Hello. I downloaded the new version last night, and am unable to get live autotrading to work through Fidelity. It tries to place the order, but it hangs on "submitted" and the order never reaches Fidelity. The cursor turns to the round thinking icon, and doesn't go away unless I restart the program. I tried restarting, repairing, etc, but am still getting the same. Autotrading with paper accounts seems to work as usual. Thanks.

:( The [intermittent] stuck submitted problem isn't a new one, but it's unfortunate to get a confirmation this early that it hasn't been fixed. In your experience, have you had trouble with this before or is it new to you?

It's new to me - I've never had this issue. Thanks.

I saw something similar after upgrading... but I wasn't autotrading... I was placing the orders manually... one went Ok.... but after I placed the second one ( a sell order) the system just hanged (similar behavior to when your internet connection goes down).... all real time strategies stop streaming (the stream button becomes unpressed (if there is such a word) and the cursor becomes the circle..... For every strategy running in realtime got an error window (sorry I didn't write down the err msg). Had to restart.

@kcbars, it seems that the 6.9 software upgrade was "accidentally available" and it's not the correct build version of 6.9. I recommend uninstalling 6.9 and reinstalling 6.8 from
https://www.fidelity.com/wlp

As of 7:30am CST, WLP is still offering an upgrade to 6.9.7.
Please inform us what the "correct build of 6.9" will be.
Thank you.

In the future, I would prefer to see the "What's new and noteworthy" in the dialog that offers to upgrade to the next version. This helps with planning/scheduling the upgrade risk.

This has been the reality for Wealth-Lab
Developer users: the Home Page tool presents a summary of what's new/changed in a new version
before upgrading.

kcbars, can you give me the symbol that you were using that failed in the submitted state, please?

I believe it was PCLN. Thanks.

The latest WLP download from Fidelity is 6.9.1 while download from yesterday was 6.9.7. So should I downgrade to 6.9.1 or will 6.8 be available?
Size:
Color:
Please uninstall any WLP 6.9 build. Anything out there right now is a mistake, 6.9 has not been released and the final version is not yet available. After uninstalling 6.9, reinstall 6.8 from
https://www.fidelity.com/wlpWLP 6.9 will be available in good time; wait for the announcement on the WLP What's New? page in WL Pro.

Need to fixed this at your end as program continue to make this offer of update...soup is certainly not fully cooked...
BTW..it took me several hours to figure out what to do once after I applied the update...as everything went...who knows where

Right.. at the fidelity end (not ours as we are third party support).
The answer to the dialog is "No". I think you should get bugged only every third or fourth time you start.

I want to download WLP 6.8 but cannot get it from Fidelity. They only have 6.9. How do I get WLP 6.8?
(My problem is that a back test of Dow 30 components in Portfolio Simulation Mode does not yield consistent results. Every run gives different Net Profit results without changing parameters.)

Notwithstanding Eugene's reply, I didn't realize that fidelity.com was pushing out 6.9.7 for the 64-bit download. Here's a solution to get back to 6.8...
1. Uninstall 64-bit 6.9.7.
2. From www.fidelity.com/wlp, use the 32-bit installation, which is 6.8.10, and it will work just as well as the 64-bit version as long as you don't perform "large" simulations/optimizations that require more than 2G of memory.
3. When launching WLP (32-bit), ignore the upgrade messages to 6.9.7.
4. When the new version is available (it is 6.9.12 or higher), you can grab the 64-bit version again.
Questions?

Thanks to both of you for the advise and support.

@Eugene - it turns out that InstallShield wasn't set up to cache WLP's 64-bit 6.8 MSI file... but it was set up to cache the WLP's 32-bit 6.8 MSI.

Why are the installers labeled (right click on installer-> Propeties -> Details) v.6.9.1 with a different version than the actual prodcut shows once installed (Help -> About).v.6.9.7
Seems Fidelity has to improve their software development lifecycle procedures....(to say the least)
After all this trouble why don't you guys simply make available the v.6.8 (64 bit) available for customers to reinstall? If you go back to 32 bits and then forget you will realize you haven't reinstalled the 64 bit when your optimizations start to fail due to lack of memory availability.

Cone,
It seems as the 32 bit version is also 6.97 from the Fidelity download page.

I just checked it again... the 32-bit version at fidelity.com is still 6.8.10.

6.9.12 showed up as available today when starting Wealth Lab..... Should we proceed with the upgrade.? (i.e. is it stable )

Does it fix the trading window problems in update of prices that 6.9.7 introduced?
